Due Date: April 25, 2017
How far along: 36 weeks and 4 days
Size of baby: A Papaya (approx. 18.7 inches and 5.73 pounds)
How many weeks to go: 3 weeks and 3 days
About baby: Baby’s liver and kidneys are in working order. Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go! Baby is still in the breech position despite all of my unique efforts to get him to turn. I have been receiving acupuncture once a week and doing moxa daily (check out my recent Instagram post for a little more info on moxibustion). I have been going to a chiropractor that specializes in the Webster technique twice a week. Other than that, lots of inversions, handstands underwater in the pool and prenatal yoga. Come on baby, let’s do a flip!
Maternity clothes: Dresses are my go-to and most comfortable attire right now. Most shoes are starting to get pretty tight so I just bought some comfy padded flip flops.
Stretch marks: No stretch marks, that I can see that is 😉 I am still using THE BEST Baby Belly Butter by Nature Bare Body Care. Check out my review here.
Sleep: Sleep is terrible to be honest. Baby is just getting so big that there’s not a lot of room in there and my belly is so hard! It feels like I’m sleeping with a bunch of bricks in there and every time I toss and turn it can be pretty painful. It would definitely help if his hard little head was down instead of pushing against my ribs too!
Best moment of this week: This past week we enjoyed a mini Desert Springs vacation and celebrated my husband’s birthday. It was so nice to get away even just for a few days, have some yummy food and enjoy the resort’s salt water pool and beautiful views.
This is going to sound weird, but another great moment of this past week was going to the Fire Department and getting our car seat installed. I think it’s so nice of them to offer this free service and it’s definitely reassuring now that it’s installed the right way and I know it’s ready to go.
Miss anything: Comfortable sleep and being able to walk without waddling 😉
Movement: Baby boy has still been moving quite a bit. His adjustments are a lot smaller, but I definitely feel him kicking and punching in there. It’s always reassuring and welcome when he checks in to say hello. He loves to kick the chiropractor when I get adjusted. Haha!
Food cravings: Pizza, lime and lemon things…which doesn’t help the heartburn situation.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Gender: BOY
Wedding rings on or off: Wedding band is still on and stays on, but I gave up on my engagement ring.
Mood: A little stressed and discouraged, but hopeful…this week has been the toughest yet. I always try to see the light at the end of the tunnel and look at the positive, that we are so blessed and so close to meeting our little Lane, but knowing he is still breech and the complications that come with that has been on my mind constantly and a bit overwhelming. Everything else checks out great though, he is measuring spot on and has a strong heart rate, so if he is healthy, we are happy and very grateful.
Favorite pregnancy or baby product: These bamboo changing pad covers I found on Amazon & these Organic Evening Primrose Oil Capsules which can help the cervix soften and efface as well as help with postpartum recovery. Note: The effects of taking evening primrose oil during pregnancy have not been proven.
Looking forward to: Our one year wedding anniversary next week! We are also going to be wrapping up the nursery this weekend. All furniture is put together, but we are working on some DYI, rustic looking floating shelves and we’ll be hanging pictures and décor.
Lots of love and good health,
Tasha, The Non-Toxic Newbie
