How far along: 31 weeks
Size of baby: Asparagus (approximately 16.1 inches and 3.31 pounds)
How many weeks to go: 9 weeks!
Maternity clothes: I got a new set of 15 spring items from Motherhood Closet (maternity clothes rental service…check previous pregnancy update posts for more info). I love the added color to my wardrobe since in the winter I tend to steer towards black and grey. Even my maternity jeans are too tight and uncomfortable at this point so leggings or dresses are my favorite right now and probably from here on out. I’m not a huge shorts person, but I rented a few pairs of those too.
Stretch marks: No stretch marks still, but boy do I feel my skin stretching. I do have the Linea Nigra starting to show finally. I was wondering when it would arrive! I am still using THE BEST Baby Belly Butter by Nature Bare Body Care. Check out my review here.
Sleep: Sleep is becoming a bit tough. I have to pee multiple times during the night and every time I get up I wake up baby and he squirms around a bunch.
Best moment of this week: Lot’s of great moments this past week…Attending my girlfriend’s baby shower. She is exactly 4 weeks ahead of me and expecting her third, a baby girl! Going out for Mexican food with my husband for Valentine’s day…and finding some unique, vintage nautical items for the nursery.
Miss anything: Can’t think of anything right now.
Movement: Baby is still head up, but hopefully he flips to head down soon. He also favors the right side of my belly so I feel like my belly is always lop-sided. Still moving a ton, especially when I lay down.
Food cravings: Peanut Butter anything or just straight pb. Also lemonade…this one has been pretty consistent throughout my whole pregnancy.
Anything making you queasy or sick: If I stand for too long, I start to get a bit queasy and light-headed. I’ve also noticed a sensitivity to sugar…even small amounts make me a bit queasy.
Gender: BOY! We are still ironing out the middle name, but his first name was determined even before he was conceived and I’m finally ready to share… Drum roll…….Baby boy’s name is Lane 🙂
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Happy…but distracted by all consuming baby thoughts. I find it very hard to focus on anything else right now #pregnancybrain
Favorite pregnancy or baby product: This isn’t a pregnancy or baby product, but leads me to those things. I am obsessed with the OfferUp app right now! Have you heard of it? It’s similar to Craigslist, but you search for an item and then you can scroll through pictures of that item for sale near you. I have been on the hunt for some deals and found a brand new Ergobaby 360 carrier still in the box for half the price it’s selling on Amazon. I also got a Fisher Price Rock and Play that was practically brand new for $15 and a Britax travel system stroller and infant car seat combo. It’s so addicting!
Equally addicting is finding adorable baby clothes at Goodwill. I have even been able to find Burt’s Bees and other organic cotton onesies. I will rarely pay more than $1 per piece.
Looking forward to: I have another baby shower to attend this weekend. I haven’t seen this girlfriend since college so I’m looking forward to it even more for that reason. We both look very different currently than we did back then. Haha!
I am also looking forward to kicking birth prep into high gear by incorporating daily exercises, walking and taking more prenatal yoga classes 🙂
