Honest Beauty™ Review

I’ve had a few bundle orders now from Honest Beauty™ so I wanted to do a quick review of the products I’ve tried so far and whether or not I would re-order those items.

First, I love that Honest does free trials. All you have to pay is $5.95 in shipping, which is worth it in my eyes because you get to try out their products in mini versions and then you also have mini bottles for travel. Win Win. For the Honest Beauty™ Trial, you pick your skin type: dry, balanced or oily. Based on your skin type you are provided with a cleanser, moisturizer and daily SPF 30.

Plus, for a limited time they are also throwing in a sample of their Everything Primer which I reviewed below and a pomegranate infused Lip gloss trio sample. Super cool trial deal, but there is a catch. If you don’t wish to continue with a subscription after you get the trial you just have to cancel within 7 days of receiving the trial. If you do move forward with a subscription, it’s super easy and straightforward and really easy to cancel at any time.

Honest Beauty™ actually has great customer service. After I received a few bundles, I was going to cancel just because I don’t need product that frequently and when I called they said they would be happy to cancel it or they could just push my next order out for a couple months, plus give me a discount on my next bundle! They definitely want to keep your business, but they aren’t pushy about it at all. The Honest Beauty™ products are also available at Ulta Beauty for full-price, but the bundle definitely saves you money.

I have loved Jessica Alba since she came out with The Honest Life book which was a big first step for me in transitioning to a more natural lifestyle. So when I heard she was coming out with a beauty line, I knew it was going to be great and I also trusted that it would be clean. I love their Honestly Free Guarantee and it puts me at ease.

“We’re guided by transparency and the strictest (self-imposed) standards to ensure our products perform safely and beautifully. We’re thoughtful about the pure, raw ingredients we use and the hundreds of harsh chemicals we don’t. Our products are made without any questionable ingredients, such as parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde carriers, PEGs, MCI/MI, steareth-n, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil, SLS, SLES, sulfates and chemical sunscreens.”

So here are the products I have used so far and what I think about them!

Skin

Refreshingly Clean Gel Cleanser: This was okay, but I wasn’t crazy about it and probably wouldn’t re-order. I never felt like it lathered enough and oftentimes I would wash my face twice to really get that clean feeling.

Younger Face Deep Hydration Cream: I’ll be honest, I’m more into natural oils to moisturize my face, but when I’m looking to switch it up, this cream is great. It is super hydrating like the name claims, but it didn’t make me oilier than I already am. It’s rich in Vitamin A and E which is great and it definitely created a good balance on my skin.

The Depuffed Eye Gel: I wouldn’t call this a gel, my version was a cream, but they may have changed their formula recently as they are still fine tuning their products.  It is cooling and soothing, and I like the applicator, but I didn’t notice the depuffing it claims. It’s hard to compete with my all time favorite eye cream which is the Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream from 100%Pure.

Makeup

Concealer Duo in Balanced Beige: Not a fan of this. I did like the two colors because you could combine them or blend them to hide things better, but it creased quite a bit and wore off as the day went on. Doesn’t compare to the RMS “Un”Coverup which I’m loving currently.

Everything Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Cream: LOVED THIS! My favorite item from Honest Beauty and everything I’m looking for in a tinted moisturizer. I love that it includes SPF, blended right into my skin to even out imperfections, but it doesn’t even look like you are wearing makeup. Very subtle and great for day to day when you don’t want to get all done up. I do want to try the oil-free version, but I’m almost scared to because I loved this one so much. This is my new go-to and I will keep re-ordering for sure.

Everything Primer: I like this, but wasn’t crazy about the smell. It was an Allure beauty winner, but I prefer the Luminous Primer from 100% Pure.

Luminizing Powder in Dawn Reflection: This is a great product. It’s like a very subtle bronzer/highlighter. I really don’t like using regular powder, so after I put on my foundation, I use this on my cheeks, hairline and jawline just to highlight and give a nice subtle glow. I think this is especially great in the fall and winter, when you don’t want to go so bronze.

True Velvet Eyeliner in Truly Black: I really like the way this applies and looks, but its staying power is weak. It could be me, because I have oily eyelids, but this tends to smudge off just hours after I apply. If I use it below my lower lashes it seems to work better.

Lip Gloss in Generous Kiss:  Love this gloss and color. Hydrating and smooth, not sticky. It’s long lasting and this color is a nice soft, nude pink that is perfect for daily wear. I am definitely going to try out some of the other colors soon.

Dependably Clear Blotting Sheets: I am oily so I love blotting sheets, but drugstore ones have all sorts of chemicals of course.  They are made from wood and hemp fibers and unbleached. These are clean and do the job. Sometimes I need to use two as opposed to one, but it’s worth it.

Coming Soon

I’m expecting an order soon with items from the new Honest Beauty™ Hair Care line as well as the Eyeshadow Trio and Makeup Remover Wipes. I will keep you updated!

Hope this review helps if you are interested in trying some Honest Beauty™ Products. Happy Shopping!

Lots of love and good health,
